Specialist Finishes, Spraying and Coving in Cambridge
Some jobs need more than a roller and brush. We offer a range of specialist work alongside our decorating, so you can get a complete, high-end finish from one team.
Much of it is the detail that makes a room feel finished: a crisp cornice, a sprayed cabinet door, or a cracked ceiling made sound again.

Sample photoSpraying
Spraying gives a smooth, brush-free finish on kitchen cabinets, doors, radiators and joinery, and can speed up large areas of new plaster. Everything around the work area is masked and protected first, and we choose spray products designed for the surface.
Coving, lining and plastering
We fit new coving and restore existing cornices, hang lining paper to even out walls, and carry out plastering repairs so the surface is right before decorating. Small patches, cracks and damaged corners are routine.
Tiling and vinyls
We also tile splashbacks and smaller areas, and fit vinyls, so a room refresh can be finished in one go without booking a separate trade.
Specialist paint finishes
From hand-painted panelling in deep, rich colours to period-appropriate sheens on old joinery, we can advise on finishes that suit your home. Every job starts with a sample so you can see the result before we commit.
Timescales vary widely with this kind of work, so we will give you a specific estimate at the quote.
Plaster restoration and careful surface repairs
Plaster restoration starts with understanding what is still sound. We inspect cracks, loose edges and damaged details before deciding how much intervention is needed. Keeping original material where practical is often better than covering everything with a new layer. If an area is unstable or a crack suggests ongoing movement, we explain the concern before proceeding with decorative repairs.
On cornicing and other moulded details, preparation should preserve the profile rather than soften it under repeated layers of filler. Small losses can be made good carefully, while extensive damage may need a separate specialist assessment. We discuss the limits of the proposed work so you know which repairs are included and which need further attention.
We often use Toupret fillers for appropriate filling and surface preparation tasks. The particular product depends on the background, depth of repair and conditions. Filling is followed by suitable drying time, sanding and any necessary priming; rushing these stages can leave patches visible through the final paint. A filler alone will not cure damp or stop a moving crack.
We also plan the practical side of detailed work. Dust control, ventilation and access influence whether a finish can be applied comfortably in an occupied room. Samples let us agree sheen and texture before covering a larger area. We explain how the repaired section is likely to blend with the surrounding surface, especially where older plaster has an uneven character worth retaining.
